Thai cuisine a unique blend of Asian and European culinary traditions created through centuries if trade between continents and cultures.

The Thai people have added their own ingenuity of thier dishes, using influences from Portuguese traders who brought chillies, Indians who provided curries and spices, and the Chinese method of hot frying in a wok.

The dishes are made up of fresh herbs and spices, delicately balanced with the five fundamental flavours; spicy, sour, sweet, salty, and sometimes bitter.

Eating ranks high on the Thai scale of pleasures, and meals are informal and communal events, shared amongst family and friend with all main dished served at once.

The menu at the Thai Orchard has been carefully structured around the fundamental flavours of Thailand, and the herbs and spices that give it its distinctive taste. Ingredients that work best with duck, chicken, pork and beef are paired accordingly and seafood dishes are cooked in the traditional way.
